from ice cream comes…ramen?
Yep, we're inside of our ice cream store. Not realizing that winter would actually come in October 2016, we were surprised by the sudden slow down of ice cream sales and drop in temperature. Weird. Fresh off a sabbatical in Japan, our fearless leader, Chef Mike fired up some product ideas that would sustain our ice cream store through the winter. Ramen was what stuck. Inspired by a ramen he slurped down in Kyoto, Chef Mike came up with our classic Dalla Rose ramen.
At the beginning of 2018, Chef Mike returned to Asia one more time for inspiration, this time to China. What resulted was an expansion of our menu to include a play on Chinese Dan-Dan noodles, in ramen form: Chili Ramen.
We are obsessed with ramen, but even with obsession there are limits. Our Ice cream production eclipses our ability to produce quality ramen in late April, and the soup cycle ends- until the October to come.
